One of the main stipulations for entry into our accelerated nursing program is that the student needs to have either a bachelor degree in a non-nursing field or an associate degree with RN licensure. As an accredited nursing program, it is required that our students have this minimum qualification.
But what if this degree is from outside of the United States? Will it still qualify to get the online nursing bachelors degree? Can it be used to apply for our accelerated BSN San Diego program? Well--yes it can--but with another stipulation. Because degrees from outside of the country have different minimum requirements for achieving the degree, the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing Program requires that the degree be evaluated by a company called WES (World Education Services). They can be found online at www.wes.org. This is the only institution that the University will take evaluations from, so if you have had an evaluation done by a different company, it will need to be re-evaluated by WES prior to admission for equivalency to go for our bachelor of science nursing degree.
After you've attained the evaluation from WES and it has been equivocated to at least a bachelor degree in the US, we'll be able to then discuss how you can get a jump start on your nurse career. If you are looking for one of the best online nursing schools and are interested as well in California nursing schools, look no further than our accelerated nursing program, where you can potentially join other BSN nurses in 14 months, or if you are a current RN looking for a RN program that you can get an online nursing bachelors degree in as little as 9 months.

Well, we are so happy that you have made the decision to go to our accelerated nursing program! However, please remember that when we refer to you graduating--we mean with a bachelor degree in a non-nursing field or an associate degree and you have passed your NCLEX and received RN licensure.
Our nursing program has three starts per year. As an accredited nursing program that requires the minimum of either of the combinations listed above, in order to apply for a given start, your degree must be posted on your transcript prior to the physical enrollment in order to be eligible. For some schools, this is no issue getting this taken care of, but there are times when universities do not post this in a timely manner.
So, what should you do?
If you are indeed interested in getting your nursing training through our university and have a specific date you'd like to apply for our online nursing bachelors degree program, and this date is close to the time you graduate, it's important that you contact us to discuss your individual situation. By giving us the details of your scenario, we will be able to advise on whether the start date you are wanting for the San Diego BSN program is a realistic goal or not.
The University of Oklahoma College of Nursing Program offers accelerated bachelor of science nursing degrees to those who have a bachelor degree in a non-nursing field or those that are currently RNs who would like to achieve their bachelor of science nursing degree. If you are interested in learning more about this San Diego nursing program and be on the fast track to your nurse career, give us a call at 1-888-696-8276 or email us at info@ounursing.com. We'd love to hear from you!

This is a phrase we often hear about our accelerated BSN program in San Diego. While nursing education online is generally faster than the traditional nurse training, some times the thought of being in an online nursing school from start to finish in just 14 months for our second degree accelerated nursing program can seem daunting.
And yes--it is fast! RN programs in San Diego as well as even the best online nursing schools across the country have made it so that individuals who want to have the nurse training done quickly CAN--and the fact that we offer a program that gives individuals a chance to be BSN Nurses in a little over the year--sometimes this raises question of quality or accreditation. We understand concerns about this.
First off, we are an accredited nursing program; our accreditation includes the California Board of Nursing as well as the Oklahoma Board of Nursing; we also hold a regional accreditation through the National League of Nursing. So while it may be hard to believe that the online education for nurses can be done with our program in 14 months--and for that are seeking online RN to BSN schools--we can offer this to licensed RNs in as little as 9 months!
But what about quality? You want it, you got it! The University of Oklahoma has long been regarded as one of the cutting-edge nursing programs in the country, and our average first board NCLEX pass rates for those that have gone through the program is a little over 91%--compare that to the national average of 88%!
If getting a Bachelor of Science Nursing degree from a quality, accredited nursing program is what you are seeking, we'd like for you to consider the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing Program. Please visit our website at http://ounursing.com today or give us a call at 888-696-8276. We'll be happy to help you on your path for nursing education!

For those of you that have researched BSN programs in San Diego, accelerated nursing programs, or even just nursing programs in general across the country, you've probably ran into a word that not many people like: impacting.
Impacting can be defined as the ratio of applicants to spaces available in a given program; for nursing programs in San Diego, California nursing schools as a whole, and many other places around the country, impacting is normally quite a concern, because generally there are many more people looking to start a nursing program as opposed to spaces available. It's no secret that nurses in San Diego are a huge need, and the nursing shortage across the country has brought about many expanded traditional programs as well as new online nursing schools. Still, impacting remains a chief barrier to entrance into even the best online nursing schools.
At the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing Program, impacting is something that we have taken into consideration with our nursing education. For one, we offer three start dates per year, giving more access to many more people to get their nurse training. We also do not have waiting lists; our normal process is that individuals who are applying for a specific start are pooled together, and out of the pool of applicants, we take the best 72-80 students per start. Those individuals who would not be accepted in our accelerated nursing program for that session would then have the ability to re-apply for the next start, where the same process would occur.
The University of Oklahoma College of Nursing Program offers accelerated bachelor of science nursing degrees to those who have a bachelor degree in a non-nursing field or those that are currently RNs who would like to achieve their bachelor of science nursing degree. There is a new RN to BSN Program in San Diego! The University of Oklahoma College of Nursing Program, in affiliation with Sharp HealthCare, offers a Career Mobility Program. This nursing program allows licensed RNs an accelerated way to receive their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in as little as nine months.
There are several BSN Programs in San Diego, and they are all very good. Our friends at Sharp HealthCare encourage all nurses to advance to the BSN level, which enables greater career mobility and advancement. If you are considering an accelerated nursing program, please consider the OU Nursing Program.
The 30-credit curriculum encompasses more than 245 hours of online theory course work and 480 hours of hands-on clinical work. The online portion represents a unique interactive experience. This is not independent or self-study, nor a solitary effort. There are assignments, tests, projects, discussions and due dates, but you enjoy “anytime, anywhere” convenience within an assigned time frame.
If you are interested in attending one of the best online nursing programs in San Diego, please consider the OU Program. Specific information about the RN to BSN is available here, or you can call 888-OU-BSN for more information.
